SWAT Standoff in Capitol Hill Ends Peacefully

Seattle police and a SWAT team successfully resolved a tense situation in Capitol Hill on Monday afternoon. The incident occurred on Boylston Avenue East, where a suspect had barricaded themselves inside a building.

Neighbors reported hearing several loud “booms” or bangs throughout the operation, which were likely distraction devices used by tactical teams. Despite the high-pressure environment and the presence of armored vehicles, the Seattle Police Department confirmed that the standoff ended without any injuries.

The suspect was taken into custody “without incident,” and authorities noted that no weapons were involved during the operation. Local residents who had been concerned by the heavy police presence and noise have been informed that the area is now secure.
