Emergency responders in Mountlake Terrace successfully pulled two people and their dog from a third-floor window as a massive fire tore through their apartment building early Sunday morning. The blaze broke out shortly after midnight at the Taluswood Apartments, quickly engulfing units and trapping the occupants.

Fire crews arriving at the scene spotted a man and a woman at their window, unable to escape through the smoke-filled hallways. Using ladders, firefighters reached the couple and their dog, safely bringing all three to the ground. While the rescued residents were treated for minor injuries, the fire left approximately 25 people displaced as multiple units were deemed uninhabitable. Fire investigators are currently working to determine the cause of the inferno.
