Seattle – Things to do

by admin

Vancouver, Washington

This is as good a time as any to visit Seattle, Washington if you haven’t already. Perhaps right now would be the ideal time to pay Seattle a nice visit. Whatever your hobbies, you are likely to find something here that appeals to you. Seattle is a fantastic destination to visit, offering fantastic athletic events, fantastic cultural centres, and a delightfully temperate environment.

The great weather and the abundance of indoor and outdoor activities will keep you and anyone travelling with you occupied for a long time. The biggest issue I see is that there is simply too much to do and not enough time to get it all done. Vacations are doomed because of this. Seattle is a place with a lot of natural beauty that is surrounded by both lovely farmland and bodies of water. There are breathtaking views wherever you look, and I have no doubt that you will find plenty to keep everyone in your group amused and content.

There are many possibilities for those who value culture to take in as much of it as they can. Seattle has a lot to offer the discriminating traveller, including wine tours, museums, and gourmet dining. Not to mention the Seattle Symphony’s home venue, Benaroya Hall, and other cultural attractions including the Seattle Opera and Seattle Chamber Music Society. You can also check out the Pacific Northwest Ballet and the Seattle Repertory Theatre if this isn’t enough to satisfy your high standards.

There is plenty of entertainment available for those of us with more frivolous interests. In addition to the aforementioned activities, Seattle offers a wide variety of sights to explore. There are driving trips to remote locations, walking tours across the city, and even duck tours that are guaranteed to amuse the younger members of our community.

There is the Experience Music Project, which is incredibly special and well worth the steep fee that entrance demands, for people who are interested in pop culture. This would be my top recommendation if you were going to splurge on anything during your solo trip to Seattle. Consider yourself fortunate and see what this “experience” has to offer if money is no object. There is also the Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame in addition to the Experience Music Project. This is one of my favourites as a fan of science fiction.

Seattle has a lot to offer if you enjoy animals. Along with the numerous whale-watching excursions offered, there are zoos including Cougar Mountain, the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium, the Seattle Aquarium, Northwest Trek, Wolf Haven, and the Woodland Park Zoo.

Consider visiting the International District, Tillicum Village, the Wing Lake Asian Museum, or Uwajimaya Village if you enjoy learning about other cultures. Each of these locations provides a window into the daily lives of people from different civilizations.

In Seattle, there are professional sports for practically every season in addition to all of these incredibly enjoyable activities. Both the NBA’s Seattle Sonics and the WNBA’s Seattle Storm play basketball. Football lovers will be pleased to learn that the Seattle Seahawks play their home games at Qwest Field, while baseball fans will be overjoyed to learn that the Seattle Mariners continue to play their games at Safeco Field. The Western Hockey League’s Seattle Thunderbirds, who play at the Key Arena, are available to local hockey enthusiasts.
