Houston TX Hot Chicken Brings the Heat to Belltown with $1,000 Challenge and Exotic Cars

Seattle’s spicy food scene is about to get a major upgrade as Houston TX Hot Chicken (HHC) officially launches its first Emerald City location on Saturday, March 28, 2026. The grand opening promises to be a high-energy event, blending extreme flavors with a celebration of local car culture.

The Main Event: High Stakes and Hotter Spice The highlight of the grand opening is the $1,000 “Houston, We Have a Problem” Challenge. To win the cash prize, the first contestant to successfully finish three of the chain’s spiciest tenders—clocking in at a staggering 2 million Scoville Heat Units—must also endure a three-minute “cool-down” period without drinking any liquids. For those who prefer a more relaxed meal, the first 250 people in line will receive complimentary food and drinks.

Beyond the Chicken: Car Meets and Community Reflecting the founders’ passion for the automotive world, the Belltown opening will feature an exotic car show right outside the restaurant. The event aims to be a festival-style gathering, complete with music, raffles for prizes like a PlayStation 5, and a meet-up for local car enthusiasts.
