Scary Moment Captured on Video as Mariners Fan Takes Foul Ball to the Head

A casual night out at T-Mobile Park took a painful and terrifying turn for a Seattle Mariners fan during Friday’s matchup against the San Diego Padres.

The incident was caught entirely by chance on a smartphone camera. Fan Jamie Golla and her friend were in the middle of recording a smiling selfie video in the lower seating bowl along the third-base line when the game action suddenly disrupted them. In the fifth inning, Padres batter Sung-mun Song hit a blistering foul ball that flew straight into the stands, striking Golla directly in the head.

The impact caused a loud, unsettling sound, immediately shifting the tone of the video from lighthearted fun to panic. Golla was transported to Harborview Medical Center for immediate treatment.

Reflecting on the viral moment after the incident, Golla shared that she is doing okay but continues to experience minor headaches and lingering swelling. She also noted that a representative from the Mariners reached out to check on her recovery and generously offered her group complimentary tickets for a future game.
