Two new Chick-fil-A locations are set to open in the North Sound this month, bringing both popular chicken sandwiches and the inevitable traffic “chokepoints” that often follow the chain’s grand openings.
Key Details of the Openings:
- Everett (Mill Creek) Location: A new drive-thru-focused restaurant is opening at 13027 Bothell-Everett Highway on April 23. This site is designed for high-speed service with dual drive-thru lanes, a walk-up window, and limited outdoor patio seating.
- Bellingham Location: Residents in Whatcom County can visit the new spot at 4030 Cordata Parkway starting April 30. Unlike the Everett location, this branch will offer traditional dine-in service alongside drive-thru and delivery options.
- Opening Day Perk: To celebrate the launches, both restaurants are inviting fans to dress in cow print (anything from a full costume to a spotted accessory) on opening day to receive a free entrée.
- Economic & Community Impact: Each new restaurant is expected to create approximately 180 jobs. Additionally, Chick-fil-A is donating $25,000 per location (totaling $50,000) to Feeding America to support local food banks like Food Lifeline.
While the new locations are a win for local fans, commuters should prepare for significant traffic delays near these sites during the opening weeks, as the brand’s debuts typically draw massive crowds and create temporary gridlock on surrounding roads.
