Multi-Vehicle Collision in Lynnwood Leads to DUI Arrest

A suspected impaired driver was taken into custody following a significant multi-car accident in Lynnwood late Thursday night.

The incident occurred near the intersection of 196th Street SW and 44th Avenue W. According to the Lynnwood Police Department, a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed struck several other cars stopped at a red light. The impact caused a chain reaction, damaging four vehicles in total.

Scene and Injuries

Emergency responders arrived shortly after the collision to assess the victims.

  • Minor Injuries: While several drivers and passengers were evaluated at the scene, authorities reported that no life-threatening injuries were sustained. One person was transported to a local hospital as a precaution.

Arrest and Investigation

Officers at the scene observed signs of impairment from the driver who initiated the crash. Following a series of field sobriety tests, the individual was arrested on suspicion of Driving Under the Influence (DUI).
