A tragic accident in Tukwila claimed the life of a 60-year-old man on Saturday night after his car veered off the road and became submerged in the Duwamish River.
Details of the Crash The incident occurred around 8:50 p.m. near the interchange of State Route 99 and State Route 599. According to the Washington State Patrol, the driver—a resident of Carnation—was traveling on Tukwila International Boulevard when his vehicle left the roadway and entered the water.
Emergency Response Multiple agencies, including Puget Sound Fire and the Tukwila Fire Department, rushed to the scene following reports of a submerged vehicle.
- Rescue Efforts: Rescue swimmers and fire crews worked to reach the car, which was fully underwater when they arrived.
